Amazement Square is excited to invite you to partner with us in launching one of the most ambitious and transformative exhibitions and educational initiatives in our history: STEM to MARS an $850,500 capital project designed to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, innovators, and explorers across Central Virginia.

STEM to MARS is a multi-faceted STEM and AI-driven initiative that combines a nationally significant permanent exhibition with free outreach programming for students in grades 5–8 throughout the region. Through immersive experiences, hands-on engineering challenges, robotics and coding activities, AI-powered interactives, and simulated life aboard the International Space Station, students and families will explore the science behind space travel and humanity’s journey to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

Most importantly, this project directly addresses growing disparities in STEM education in our community that have intensified since the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly among students from historically underrepresented communities and young women pursuing STEM pathways.

STEM to Mars! School Program

This in-classroom program introduces 5th-8th-grade students to the Artemis missions to return to the moon and challenges them to build, test, and code like NASA engineers. The program is a 3-session series that comes right to the classroom. This program has served nearly 150 students to date. Invest in STEM education by donating to our capital campaign today!
