Mission
Amazement Square cultivates an engaged community of lifelong learners by sparking imagination, creativity, and curiosity
Amazement Square is an award-winning, hands-on children’s museum located in the heart of historic Downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. Designed to spark curiosity and creativity, the Museum invites children and caregivers to learn through play, exploration, and imagination.
Spanning four floors, Amazement Square is filled with interactive experiences that encourage discovery at every turn. Guests can paint on the walls, experiment with weather, explore life on the farm, float boats down the James River, or take the stage in a band of their own.
At the center of it all rises the Amazement Tower—an indoor, multi-story play structure that winds through every floor with slides, ladders, tunnels, and a zip-line, offering endless opportunities for movement, challenge, and joy.
Amazement Square is proud to be the only museum in Virginia designated as a Certified Autism Center, reflecting our commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for families of all abilities.
Each year, more than 75,000 visitors from across the country and around the world come to Amazement Square to play, learn, and discover—together.
