Weekly Museum Programs

Amazement Square offers a variety of weekly, drop-in programs designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and discovery for children and families. These programs are included with museum admission or membership and are led by museum educators in interactive learning spaces throughout the Museum.

Programs repeat weekly, but activities may change—so there’s always something new to explore!

Fun Fridays @ The Paint Box

Every Friday from 10 AM – 5 PM
Perfect for All Ages

Come join us for a paint-tastic experience led by museum educators! Mix colors, paint in black and white, contribute to a community mural, create portraits, and more. Activities rotate weekly for new creative experiences. Takes place in the James T. Davis Jr. Paint Box and is included with admission or membership.

Melody & Motion

Every Wednesday from 10:30 AM – 11 AM
Perfect for Ages 2–5

Calling all young movers! Children and caregivers are invited to sing, move, read, and explore instruments while engaging in activities that support motor skills, listening, and self-expression. Takes place in the Diane M. Walker Community Room.

The Hive is abuzz! Stop by to cultivate creativity and engage in the engineering design process while tackling prompts using unique materials. Participants are encouraged to explore, experiment, and build at their own pace. This program takes place in the Frances J. Giles The HIVE Makerspace and is included with museum admission or membership.

Open Maker Space

Every Saturday from 1 PM- 3 PM
Perfect for ages 6-10

Explore science, art, math, and more through engaging demonstrations and hands-on activities popping up throughout the Museum. These programs are designed to surprise, delight, and invite curiosity in a flexible, drop-in format.

Imagination Studio: Start with Art Every Saturday from 10 AM – 12 PM
Perfect for All Ages

Discover art in new ways as you explore techniques, art history, and culture while creating your own masterpiece. Each month introduces a new theme with different activities each week—so come back often to see what’s next! Takes place in the Maxine Candler Imagination Studio.
