As an extension of Amazement Square, Anywhere!, we have released the STEAM Lending Program. These resources are a wonderful accompaniment and extension to the concepts learned within Amazement Square, Anywhere! that can be utilized by teachers and parents alike. These hands-on kits allow early learning – 8th grade students to explore STEAM in a variety of ways, using authentic equipment, building tools, and materials. Through their use, children have the opportunity to use their hands and minds together to improve their creativity and critical thinking skills.

All STEAM Lending Program Kits can be checked out for up to 2 weeks for just $10!
To book/reserve a STEAM Lending Program Kit to lend, please fill out the STEAM Lending Program Inquiry Form Below. Upon receiving the inquiry form, a staff member will contact you to finalize details and process the $10 STEAM Lending Program Fee.
The same credit card will be kept on file until the return of lent equipment/kit. If one of the items is damaged or missing upon return of the kit, you are responsible for the cost of the item(s).
Pick up and return of STEAM Lending Program Kits will be carried out with an Amazement Square staff member at the museum. No shipping or delivery will be available. If you have any questions, please call us at 434-845-1888.
PVC Builder Kit
Contains sections of PVC pipe, connectors, and fabrics for children to imagine and create large play structures. Instructions for structures are also included.
Marble Motion Kit
Contains both a pre-built wooden run and a brick builder run for young children to understand foundational physics concepts.
Gearphun Kit
Contains parts that fit together for an early lesson in problem solving, gear use, and simple machines.
Microscope Kit (Large Screen)
Allows younger learners the ability to look at objects in extreme detail! Films and slides included.
Snap Circuit Kits
Provides opportunities to understand electronics and circuits, along with following instructions and problem solving. Choose from the Junior, Structure, Coding and/or Rover kits.
Ozobot Evo Kit
Teaches the process of coding in a unique, artistic way. Students learn general STEAM skills along with problem solving and critical thinking.
Geography Exploration Map Kits
Provides large-size, writable maps to assist in key skills of spatial reasoning and relationships. Choose from Virginia, US/World, Geographical Terms kits.
Native American Archaeology Explorer Kit
Dive into history using primary and secondary sources to investigate the culture of Virginian Native Americans.
Microscope Kits
Allows students to look at a world in a way they may never have! Materials are included with the dissecting microscope, though materials from home can be used as well. Slides are included. Choose from Dissecting and Compound microscope kits.
Woodworking Kit
Contains all the tools necessary for smaller woodworking projects such as picture frames and decorative projects. Project plans and scrap wood included for practice. Finishing wood, nails/screws, and paint/stain not included.
Sewing Kit
Allows for the exploration of the textile arts. The sewing kit will include project instructions and forms, thread, and scrap fabric for practice. Finishing fabric and thread are not included.
