Know before you visit:
All backpacks, bags, or large purses must checked by our front desk team before visitors can explore the museum, or they may be stored for free in one of our lockers.
The paint box is closed from 12:30 - 1:30 and 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (this is subject to change)
Rockband is CLOSED from 12 PM - 2 PM, it is opened by request the rest of the time
Shoes are required at ALL TIMES in the museum EXCEPT for the purple mat area on the 1st floor, Shipwreck Cove, and the Paintbox
NO FOOD OR DRINK can be consumed anywhere in the museum (baby formula/nursing excluded) except in the lobby area or right outside of Cafe Amaze where the table is. If our staff have to ask you more than once to discard your drink/food or to consume it in the designated areas only, the museums reserve the right to ask you to leave the museum.
Unfortunately, we do not own any parking lots, they are owned/managed by the City and/or the railroad company.
Adults can not visit the museum without a child, unless a pre-arranged tour has been scheduled.

$13.00 if pre-purchased online (over the age of 12 months) and $15 at the door
children under 12 months are admitted free
Adults are unable to visit the museum without a child.
Groups
Groups of 10 or more guests must call the museum with at least 48 hours’ notice to receive Special Group pricing. Pricing is subject to availability and must meet the required ratio of Adults to Children. Call to book today:

Free parking is located in the back of the museum in the Canal Lot, adjacent to the James River. Additionally, there are 2-hour parking spaces available on Jefferson Street and 9th Street. Please visit here for more information on downtown parking.

For safety concerns, the use of strollers is not allowed in the museum. Alternative options are provided including a child carrier, available at the front desk.
+ Lockers
Locker space is available adjacent to the Lobby. Please visit the Front Desk for a locker key.
+ Photo Policy
Periodically, Amazement Square takes photographs and video of museum visitors and activities for use in educational and promotional materials. With admission, you give permission for the recording of photographs and/or video of you and your dependents. Please notify the Front Desk if you do not consent to this policy. You are welcome to take your own photographs throughout the museum.
+ Accessibility

+ Health
Amazement Square is committed to reducing the spread of germs in the museum. As an interactive and hands-on museum, we understand the importance of thoroughly cleaning exhibits everyday. The entire museum is cleaned every morning prior to the museum opening and in the evening at closing. Each surface touched by children is disinfected, including each and every golf and ping pong ball! We use non-toxic and environmentally-friendly products in order to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our visitors.
+ Visitation Policies
In order to ensure that Amazement Square remains a safe and comfortable place for children and families; individuals 16 years old and older are not admitted to the museum without a child, unless on a tour guided by museum staff or attending an adult only event.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the museum. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult in Amazement Tower. Food, Drink, and gum is not permitted in the exhibitions. Parents and caregivers are responsible for their children’s behavior and for damage resulting from improper use or abuse of the exhibits. Amazement Square is a play at your own risk facility and is not liable for damage to persons or property.
By purchasing admission to Amazement Square and/or participating in any activities/programs/camps that are offered/facilitated by the museum, whether indoor or outdoor, you are assuming all liability. Amazement Square is a play at your own risk facility and you will hold the museum, its staff and its Board of Directors harmless should you or anyone in your party get hurt.
Museum Manners
No Weapons
Please note that weapons of any kind are not allowed in the Museum either openly or concealed on the premises. The prohibition on firearms applies to all visitors, including those with concealed firearm permits.
No Smoking
Amazement Square is a tobacco-free environment. Cigars, pipes, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, vapor cigarettes, chewing tobacco or any tobacco related product is strictly prohibited in the Museum and on Museum grounds. Thank you for keeping our children healthy.
