Anna M. Filiaggi
Anna is a recent Longwood University graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her favorite parts of working at Amazement Square include having fun with the kids and using her degree to assist the exhibits department. A fun fact about Anna is that she knows how to weld! In her spare time she loves making abstract art and hanging out with friends. Her favorite book growing up was The Giving Tree and her favorite animated movie is the Lion King. Anna’s favorite thing about facilitating parties is seeing how excited kids get to celebrate their birthday at Amazement Square!
Eddie is a University of Lynchburg student class of 2021 majoring in history and minoring in secondary education. His favorite part of working at Amazement Square is teaching kids new things. When he’s not facilitating parties at Amazement Square or going to class, Eddie enjoys skateboarding and playing video games. Growing up his favorite books were the Goosebumps and Harry Potter series. Coffee and buffalo wings are the two things he could never live without and his favorite animated movie is Monsters, inc. Eddie enjoys facilitating parties because he loves to celebrate a child’s special day!
Joshua, a Liberty University graduate and Amazement Square visitor experience supervisor, is celebrating 10 years at Amazement Square! A Lynchburg native, his favorite book growing up was Hank the Cowdog and his favorite animated movie is Big Hero 6. He enjoys working at Amazement Square because he loves to see the kids’ many reactions to new things. When he’s not at Amazement Square, Joshua enjoys doing logic puzzles and collecting cards. His favorite color is green and he is a big gameshow fan. Joshua’s favorite part of facilitating parties is playing games with the kids!
Mayalin, Birthday Coordinator for Amazement Square, has been with us since 2016! She has two bachelor’s degrees from Sweet Briar College in musical theatre and psychology as well as a master’s degree in non-profit leadership from the University of Lynchburg. A Houston Texan native, the thing she cannot live without is sunshine, which is where she got her college nickname. When she is not coordinating or facilitating birthdays, Mayalin can be spotted performing in both professional and community theatre productions in Lynchburg, Appomattox, Bedford, and Roanoke. Her favorite thing about working at Amazement Square is being able to provide a unique and amazing birthday experience that children and their families can remember forever!
Rachel, originally from Seoul, Korea, has a Bachelor of Science in child and adolescent development from California State University. She loves working at Amazement Square because she loves that she is able to play with and get to know the families who come to visit us. When she’s not at the museum, Rachel enjoys painting and cooking and she could never live without hand lotion and hot tea. Her favorite book growing up was Winnie the Pooh and a fun fact about her is that she can make Donald Duck sounds! Her favorite part of facilitating parties is being able to bring joy to a child’s special day.
