Unable to come to the museum?  Let us come to you!  Outreach Programs allow students to experience some of our unique hands-on learning adventures delivered straight to your classroom.  We bring all the supplies and do all the clean-up!

 Everyone is Special

Amazement Square is proud to provide visual arts programming to special needs classrooms in the Lynchburg area.  Learn more about this VSA program provided under a contract with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Prices: Pricing varies depending on the type of and number of programs in which you choose to participate.  You can learn more about the school programs we offer by choosing a category above. 

Chaperones: One chaperone per five students is required and covered by the cost of the group booking.  Chaperones exceeding the 1:5 ratio will be charged $7.50 per person. If the minimum 1:5 ratio is not met, a $20/hour fee will be added. Chaperones are required to stay with their students at all times and monitor their behavior.  Please note that memberships, passes, coupons, and other discounts are not applicable for admission with any school program, including museum exploration.

Sponsored Admissions: Reduced admission prices are available for schools with a free and reduced lunch rate of 50% or greater. Scholarship funds for reduced admission are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Lunch Room Rental: Although the museum does not sell lunch on site, students may bring their own bagged lunch to eat in one of the museum’s designated dining spaces. Room rental starts at $25 with an additional $1 per person for groups of more than 25 students. Lunch sessions are limited to 30 minutes each. Please be sure to schedule your lunch rental in advance as they are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. A $15 late fee will be charged if the room is requested on the day of your visit. A picnic area is also located on the side of the museum and is open to the public on a first come, first serve basis for no additional cost.

All school visits require prior reservations and must be booked 4 weeks in advance.  A non-refundable deposit of $50 is due within two weeks after booking.  Late bookings will be subject to a $25 service charge.
