Be a part of Amazement Square’s 17th Birthday!

Saturday, March 24, 2018

Over the past 17 years Amazement Square has created an environment that inspires play and hands-on learning, sparking children’s creativity and curiosity of the world in which they live.

Join us as we celebrate the start of an exciting addition to the museum and Amazement Square’s 17 years of service to Greater Lynchburg and its surrounding communities.

Today we not only celebrate 17 years of serving central Virginia, but also kick off our newest CityArts project! The CityArts Downtown Lynchburg Cityscape project will pair emerging youth LEGO® enthusiasts ages 10-18, intergenerational adults, LEGO® experts, and museum staff to create a large scale 3D diorama of Downtown Lynchburg, constructed completely of LEGO® bricks. The project represents an effort to combine the museum’s top priorities of engaging in community outreach initiatives, teaching the engineering design process and artistic skill, and providing team-building and mentoring experiences for youth and adults in our region.

In honor of Amazement Square’s 17th Birthday and the launch of our newest CityArts project, bring us a donation of 1 pound of LEGO® bricks and receive a FREE Admit One Pass!  Also, join us in Amazement Square’s new Genworth Education Center and The Hive makerspace on Saturday, March 24th to participate in LEGO® building challenges, take a sneak peak at the Education Center, and learn more about the CityArts LEGO® Downtown Lynchburg Cityscape project.
