Great Artists: Fundamentals Series

Do you love making art? Expand your skillset with our Great Artists: Fundamentals Series!
This monthly class allows young artists to improve their skills as they learn techniques, create masterpieces, and grow as artists! Each class will explore a different technique for your little artist to add to their art “toolbox” of skills.

Classes are $5.00 per child plus museum admission or membership and include all supplies and materials. Recommended for artists ages 6 and older.

Saturday, March 17 | 1:00 – 2:30 PM | Landscapes of Texture

Whether it be a cuddly blanket, sandy beaches, or a fuzzy kitten, the world is full of stuff we want to touch.  This month we are learning how to add texture to our art by creating a mixed media landscape with pen, clay, tissue paper, and more!

Saturday, April 21 | 1:00 – 2:30 PM | Learning About Line

Learn how to use line in your artwork. Add a technique to your art skills by investigating the differences that line thickness and emotive lines make. We will create a series of pen and ink self-portraits and test out calligraphy brushes!

Saturday, May 19 | 1:00 – 2:30 PM | Creating with Color

Color brings life to art and this month as we learn all about how to mix, tint, and shade! Join us as we learn to paint the world around us with colorful acrylics!
